How Much Does a Saltwater Tank Weigh?
Because a saltwater tank is often larger than some of its counterparts,
it can be extremely heavy when filled with water. Here's information
on how to calculate the weight of a saltwater tank.
Length x Width x Depth (in centimeters) / 1000 = volume in liters
1 liter = 1 kg. If you need information about gallons, simply
multiply by 0.22. If you use porous live rock, it will displace some
of the water and reduce the weight.
Keep this weight in mind when you are placing the tank in your
home. Make sure it is well supported by flooring, etc.
