Glass aquariums are definitely more practical. They are easier to clean and they don't scratch easily. Of course, acrylic tanks are lighter and are less likely to shatter (although, it's a rare occasion when a glass tank would shatter). Never choose a fish bowl -- that is cruel and not enough space for your fish. Plus, remember what we learned about oxygen and water surface area. Fish bowls have very little surface area.
